Painting and decorating prices on the rise

Published: 23/02/2021

Due to the resource cost increases for painters and decorators, the general trend has seen trade prices rise by around 3.17% over the past year. However individual rates vary between 1.86% to 4.82%.

The BCIS painting and decorating dataset provides guide prices for redecoration work in existing properties as well as for decoration work in new buildings. It includes internal and external work and a full range of surface treatments. The latest edition of the BCIS painting and decorating dataset has been reviewed and updated to account for all changes to resource costs and wage rates up to January 2021.

The BCIS Painting and decorating price book (available online as Schedule of rates and in hard copy) has been thoroughly updated and revised. It provides the most reliable prices for the painting and decorating sector. The 2021 edition includes new rates for ‘Ilumitex’ multicolour dry flake system in the walls and ceilings, sprayed finishes internally section.
