Overall responsibility to analyse construction and economic data, providing BCIS data products and connected consultancy services to professionals in the built environment. In delivering these products this role will ensure that there are a range of data and information products that meet the needs of key stakeholders in markets around the world, maximise revenue and profit opportunities and drive customer satisfaction.

  • Preparation of indices and forecasts data products
  • Analysis and synthesis of project, economic and market data
  • Support the development of new methodologies to ensure data products are fit for purpose
  • Contribute to the KPIs for the team to monitor performance, improving processes, procedures and methods of working to maximise efficiency
  • Provide technical guidance to develop Data Collection strategies maximising sample sizes
  • Review and implement QA procedures and Business Continuity Plans
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to maximise the effectiveness of data products
  • Contribute to research and development for bespoke consultancy projects
  • Manage customer enquiries and support in relation to the above.
  • Publication of all data products to schedule, ensuring that they are fit-for-purpose
  • Assist in meeting or exceeding operational KPIs set in annual objectives (quality, frequency of data, customer satisfaction, etc)
  • Support the strategic direction of BCIS products and services in relation to new and existing data products
  • Support the delivery of bespoke consultancy services.
  • Quantity surveyor with proven statistical knowledge (or) Statistical qualification: minimum 2:1 degree in statistics, data science, mathematics or other discipline with a substantial statistical content
  • Practical construction knowledge and experience of taking-off construction quantities
  • Experience of data products for the built environment
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to distil information clearly
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational, planning and time management skills
  • A broad range of computer skills including MS (Intermediate/advanced) Excel, Word, PowerPoint, visualisation tools and an understanding of databases and data science techniques
  • An organised, methodical approach to work with an eye-for-detail and an enthusiasm for quality
  • Dynamic problem-solving skills
